Black Bay 58 GMT
Supplier codes: M7939G1A0NRU-0001, M7939G1A0NRU-0002
The Black Bay 58 timepieces are inspired by the first ever TUDOR diver’s watch with a 200m water resistance, the Big Crown, released in 1958. The Black Bay 58 collection was first released in 2018, and since, there’s been one function that fans have been calling out for, a GMT function.
Well, TUDOR have been listening to fans of the Black Bay 58, and are releasing a Black Bay 58 GMT model that will come as welcome news to enthusiasts of the collection and collectors. But, the development of this timepiece was a little more complex than it seems. The GMT function could not be introduced with the original Black Bay 58 calibres, so TUDOR have crafted an entirely new movement, the GMT Manufacture Calibre MT5450-U - which is even Master Chronometer certified, too.
With a black and burgundy bezel, accentuated with warm gilt tones, ‘snowflake hands’, and a rounded winding crown, we’re loving the vintage-esque look of this advanced timepiece. With a new movement at helm, the 39mm stainless steel case boasts a thinner profile than previous 41mm models, for perfect ergonomics both above and below the waves. Paired with a three-link bracelet or rubber straps with a ‘T-fit’ feature, you can go from sleek to smooth with ease.
"The watch I really love in our novelty is, it is the Black Bay 58 GMT, it is a real vintage vibe with its gilt accents on the dial and on the bezel. It is also the first time we implemented the GMT on this side, it was demanded by everyone on social media, also during our discussions with journalists, during our discussions internally in TUDOR. So, it is a very exciting project, yeah, the result is quite good I believe, I’m wearing it so it’s obviously my favourite, I’ll show it off this year." - Ludovic Bazzan, Designer at TUDOR.
Black Bay
Supplier codes: M7941A1A0NU-0001, M7941A1A0NU-0002, M7941A1A0NU-0003
Dark, daring, and classic are the perfect words to describe the spirit of Black Bay and the collection’s newest additions. Iconic for decades, this timepiece brings together all the features we love about Black Bay, the ‘snowflake hands’, the ‘toothed’ bezel, and rounded crown, nostalgic of the original Black Bays of the 1950s and 60s. This model is designed with an enhanced grip and stronger design, and a sleek, thinner profile.
The modern updates don’t stop there. This timepiece is a reinterpretation of the burgundy model from last year, with a monochrome style design and black dial with silver accents for a contemporary aesthetic. Driven by the Manufacture Calibre MT5602-U, boasting a power reserve of 70 hours, this watch was tested under strict regulations to ensure its precision; it’s accurate to 0/+5 seconds per day, and endured testing at 6 different positions, at two different temperatures for 10 consecutive days.
"We have the Black Bay 41mm, an evolution of our Black Bay family, one of the biggest sizes we have. We launched last year the update of that line with the burgundy bezel, this year we are launching it with the black bezel and a grey dial, with grey hands, indexes, etc. So, a black and grey theme, I would say." - Ludovic Bazzan, Designer at TUDOR.
Water resistant to 200m and featuring a 60-minute unidirectional bezel, the diving spirit of Black Bay is still honed in every aspect. Accompanied by either a stainless steel bracelet or black rubber straps, the ‘T-fit’ function will ensure you can switch them up in no time.
Black Bay 58 18K
Supplier code: M79018V-0006
TUDOR have always impressed the watchmaking world with their opulent craftsmanship, but this year, they’re bringing something new to their Black Bay 58 line. This model is the first TUDOR diver’s watch to be crafted in solid 18ct yellow gold with an open case back. The skeleton dial is as decorative as it is exceptional, and allows a glance at the new, COSC-certified, Manufacture Calibre MT5400, boasting a power reserve of 70 hours. Each Manufacture Calibre movement by TUDOR goes above and beyond COSC requirements, and applies a 6 second variation standard per day, instead of a 10 second one.
Not only is the 18ct gold construction rare and exclusive, but it also perfectly blends with the ‘golden green’ dial and bezel. With hands, hour markers, and dial accents crafted in 18ct yellow gold, the green hues are indulgently rich. A luxurious take on the green dial aesthetic we’re loving at the minute (and always), it’s a bold signature we can’t take our eyes off.
The 39mm case comes with a matching bracelet, which has skeletonised blades to minimise the weight of the solid gold, and a specially designed clasp, to uphold greater protection. Complete with a ‘T-fit’ function, it ensures that TUDOR value comfortability just as much as high performance.
Clair de Rose
Supplier codes: M35200-0009, M35500-0009, M35200-0009
Discover the perfect dress watch with the new Clair de Rose timepieces. Epitomising classic elegance, Clair de Rose has got a new look this year, thanks to the iconic ‘TUDOR blue’ gracing its dial. ‘TUDOR blue’ doesn’t have a particular shade, its title relates to the strong association between TUDOR and blue dials. At Watches and Wonders 2024, the brand are introducing it to one of their most iconic collections.
Previously seen in opaline, the new dial colour sees an inverted take on the signature Clair de Rose look. The traditionally blue elements have been turned clear on the new models, and the silver features are now in blue. Although a dainty wristwatch, these models remain of the highest quality and versatility, The striking screw-down crown ensures 100m water resistance, and the self-winding calibre T601 or T201 boasts a 38-hour power reserve.
Exclusively crafted in stainless steel, the, 26mm, and 30mm, and 34mm case sizes are paired with a ‘beads of rice’ bracelet, a 5-link structure with a delicate and bold aesthetic. With diamond dot hour markers and Roman Numerals decorating the dial, these models are the jewellery-like timepieces of dreams.
"The Clair de Rose exists in three sizes. We wanted to celebrate that feminine line, it existed with the opaline dial and with blue Roman Numerals on the dial, and we wanted to inverse completely, in fact, the appearance of the dial, of the watch. This is why the blue becomes the base of the dial, so we have a nice geo-shape blue on the dial. And the Roman Numerals became silver, so both of them are kind of the perfect watch for everyone, I mean, you want a light watch, a light-dial watch, you can have it with the Clair de Rose, and if you want to have colour or something a bit darker, you can also have it on the same line." - Ludovic Bazzan, Designer at TUDOR.
