Geneva Watch Days 2023 | New DOXA SUB 300β Sharkhunter Watch
Starting on the 29th August 2023, Geneva Watch Days has us hanging on the edge of our seats to see the latest releases from some of our favourite Swiss watch brands. Founded in 2020, Geneva Watch Days is an independent organisation that showcases the latest in watchmaking. Held in the Swiss city infamous for its manufacture of fine timepieces, the event is open to the public and displays the most recent luxury watches over a duration of five days.
At the event this year, DOXA has released a timepiece that’s sporty and chic, the SUB 300β Sharkhunter, complete with a colourway that’s a first for the brand. With a statement urban elegance, this watch looks just as iconic beneath the waves as it does on your evening endeavours.
Crafting mainstream professional diving watches has been in DOXA’s DNA since 1967, and the brand has stayed true to its principles that revolutionised diving watches ever since. The DOXA SUB 300 collection has been recognisable for its signature design and emblematic improvements since its creation, and DOXA continue to expand on its legacy.
This timepiece joins a longstanding set of icons in the SUB 300 collection, and is excitingly coming soon to Beaverbrooks. We can’t wait to show you what the legendary diving watch brand has got for us this year…
DOXA SUB 300β Sharkhunter
Accurately named, the DOXA SUB 300β Sharkhunter watch is just as daring as it sounds. In a DOXA first, the brand have combined a stunning black and 18k gold colourway that balances stealth and flamboyance. Water resistant up to 300m, this one will take you from the depths of the ocean to sophisticated business attire, and back again.
A diving watch with an urban aesthetic
Equipped for professional divers, the diving scales on the 18K gold and ceramic bezel have been a staple since the ‘60s. Developed with the science and research conducted by the US Navy, the original SUB timepieces were the first to incorporate a unidirectionally rotating bezel with dive time and depth indicators.
Displayed in this watch today, these remarkable adaptations remain an integral part on the bezel of a DOXA diving watch. The black-on-black indicators monitor the minutes for timing dives, and the depth of a dive in feet, ensuring divers have a safe ascent back to the surface without decompression stops.
The DOXA SUB 300β Sharkhunter is constructed with a 42.5mm black ceramic case, with 18K gold details on the bezel, indexes, and plating on the hands that are also filled with Super-LumiNova. An 18k gold screw-down crown is embossed with the symbolic DOXA fish, for an emblematic finishing touch.
Fine details
The ‘β’ symbol that’s included in the name of this watch represents beta, for beyond the conventional. Displayed in the exceptionally crafted automatic Swiss movement, this watch comes with a power reserve of 38 hours, and also boasts a pressure-resistant titanium container and screw-down titanium case back, for maximum protection during underwater venturing.
Paired with a black rubber strap, this stylish model is crafted for maximum comfortability wherever it accompanies you. And with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal encasing the dial, don’t worry about this watch’s sturdy construction that’s built to withstand uncompromising conditions.
